SmartPlate® EV heaters are specifically engineered to complement condensing boilers in low-temperature applications to provide safe, reliable domestic hot water while promoting system-wide energy efficiency. Easy to install, these compact heaters offer single-point header connections for domestic hot water, cold water, boiler water inlet, boiler water outlet, and electrical power supply. Available in seven sizes, SmartPlate EV units support loads ranging from 10 to 140 gallons per minute.
When paired with a condensing hydronic boiler in a combination plant, SmartPlate water heaters can utilize boiler water as little as 5°F above the required potable water temperature to minimize radiation losses and maximize boiler efficiency. SmartPlate EV pairs best with AERCO's Benchmark, Benchmark E and CFR boilers due to the ability to seamlessly communicate with these boilers. To ensure longevity, all water wetted (potable water side) parts are stainless steel, copper or copper alloy materials.
Package Heater
Shipped completely assembled and ready for immediate hook-up, SmartPlate EV includes a heat exchanger, full controls package, and 3-way electronic control valve. The package can be field-configured for either 2-way or 3-way operation, offering maximum installation flexibility and ease of setup.
Electric Controls
AERCO’s exclusive electronic control system combines a compact control box assembly with all internal circuitry, a flowmeter installed at the cold-water inlet for feed-forward sensing, feedback sensors, and a voltage regulator. To maintain precise temperature control, the system uses advanced PID algorithms to monitor outlet temperature and modulate the control valve position in real time. An integrated over-temperature limit switch ensures added safety and system protection.
Modbus Communications
Every SmartPlate EV comes standard with Modbus® RS485 communications, allowing it to easily daisy chain with gas-fired Benchmark or CFR boilers - or with the all-electric Benchmark E® - for seamless integration in hybrid or all-electric heating and hot water plants. Modbus connectivity also enables integration with Building Automation Systems (BAS) and Energy Management Software for optimized plant control.
Dry Contacts
Included terminals provide remote “High Limit Tripped Status” indication to the Building Automation System or remote monitoring interface.
