AERCO engineers from our Blauvelt facility recently visited Ramapo Ridge Middle School in Mahwah, NJ, to present Equations as Problem Solving Tools to a 7th grade class. Representing the Tech Matters Employee Resource Group, Daniel Galperin, R&D Engineer, Amar Dhore, Embedded Software Engineering Supervisor, and Iram Rahman, Leadership Rotational, Engineer, provided the students with real-world examples of how equations can help us all live better while simplifying life and our daily problems.
Examples of these presentations included how to mathematically order the largest and cheapest pizza while incorporating some fundamental engineering concepts that surround electricity and heat.
“This was a very special opportunity to show students how math can be useful to their everyday lives. By reframing how equations can be tools for problem-solving in STEM and in everyday life, you can really motivate students to learn and grow!", said Daniel Galperin, R&D Engineer.
