AERCO Comes to Aid of Westlake Hospital in Fight Against COVID-19

Although Westlake Hospital in Melrose Park near Chicago, closed at the end of 2019, it will be re-opened shortly for COVID-19 patients only. The Army Corps of Engineers is leading construction with funding approval from FEMA to open the closed hospital to support patients needing ICU care. Re-opening the hospital will allow for the critical treatment of 230 patients, and possibly up to 350.

In order to re-open this facility as fast as possible during this critical time, the facility needs safe, reliable domestic hot water for patients and medical staff. The AERCO Operations team and Sales Representative, Bornquist, worked diligently to quickly provide a replacement AERCO SWDW24 water heater. The replacement AERCO SWDW24 water heater is currently being installed at the hospital with startup scheduled for Monday, 4/20.
