How do you make a new 80-bed hospital energy efficient while providing modern kitchen facilities with plenty of hot water? Community Psychiatric Center (CPC) Greenbriar Hospital did it with state-of-the-art AERCO Water heaters.

CPC installed two AERCO Water heaters at one million Btu/h each. They supply water for the entire 54,000 sq. ft. hospital including hot water for cooking and showers. The units offer super high-efficiency, instantaneous water heating without mass water storage. They have a computerized load tracking control system which continuously varies the gas input to precisely match demand. Water temperature is maintained at plus or minus 4 degrees F. regardless of flow pattern. The helical tube descaling heat exchanger operates in a counter-flow pattern, and enhances stratification.

After studying the effectiveness of the AERCO Water heaters, CPC has installed the units in one of their other facilities.
