Northvale, NJ (April 17, 2008) - AERCO International's Benchmark 1.5 Low NOx condensing boiler has been selected by Buildings magazine as a 2008 Editors' Choice Top Product Pick. The Buildings editorial staff, along with facilities professionals, evaluated thousands of products and chose the BMK1.5LN as one of an elite 100 products based upon extensive criteria that included aesthetics, ease of use, durability/life-cycle, efficiency, universal appeal and other characteristics.

With an operating range of 75,000 to 1.5 million BTU/hr., the BMK 1.5LN precisely matches fluctuating loads to minimize boiler cycling and eliminate temperature overshoot. The boiler achieves very high thermal transfers when it's firing at its lowest rates, so the BMK 1.5LN is most efficient during part load operations, which characterize most of the heating season. In fact, the boiler achieves 99.4% efficiency at its lowest firing rate, and is more efficient at 100% input than other boilers with similar capacity.

Designed with an extremely small footprint, the BMK 1.5LN measures only 79" H x 28" W x 36" D and is delivered in a single, fully assembled package that fits through a standard doorway. All key components are accessible from the front of the unit, so multiple boilers can be installed with zero side clearance. The unit features removable enclosure panels and rear access to all piping and also offers a variety of combustion air and venting options to simplify installation.

The BMK1.5LN is designed with a low NOx burner, which makes the boiler well suited for hydronic heating applications requiring minimal emissions. The BMK1.5LN boiler can be used individually or in multiple unit designs. In addition to having a constant set point, indoor/outdoor reset schedule or 4-20 mA signal, one or more boilers can be integrated via a Modbus communications protocol to AERCO's multiple boiler management system (BMS) or facility-wide Energy Management or Building Automation System. An optional gateway to support BACnet, LonWorks and N2 communications is also available.
